About

The sound

8Kays is the electronic music project of Iryna Shvydka, a Ukrainian producer and DJ from Kyiv. Her music combines melodic writing with the weight and momentum of techno, placing studio production at the centre of her work. Releases have appeared on Afterlife, Bedrock and Watergate, alongside earlier recordings for Renaissance, Anjunabeats, Blaufield Music and Eleatics. Her catalogue includes Morning After The Rave, Rainbow and Circuit, as well as vocal collaborations such as Viking with Kyle Pearce and Sirens with Kyozo. Other recordings pair her with Samuel Miller on Dots and with Ramverk on Come Alive. She has also remixed John Digweed and Nick Muir’s Heaven Scent. Alongside original tracks and remixes, her recorded mixes include a Hot Mix for BBC Radio 1. She performs as a DJ and live act, connecting that production catalogue with her work behind the decks.
