About
The sound
Acid Arab is a Paris-based electronic collective whose music places club production in conversation with the voices, rhythms and melodic traditions of North Africa, the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Acid synthesizers, percussion and electronic dance rhythms share space with guest singers and musicians, making collaboration part of the project's musical structure rather than an occasional addition.
Early releases on Versatile led to a sequence of albums on Crammed Discs: Musique de France in 2016, Jdid in 2019 and ٣ (Trois) in 2023. Collaborators across the group's repertoire include Sofiane Saidi, Cem Yıldız and Yasmine Hamdan, bringing different vocal and instrumental traditions into the recordings. Resonance followed in 2026. Acid Arab works across DJ sets, live performance and album production, with each format giving a different shape to its exchange between electronic music and the cultures that inform it.
