About

The sound

Adam Beyer is a Swedish techno DJ, producer and the founder of Drumcode. Emerging during the 1990s, he built a musical identity that links his own studio work with the label’s releases and the selections of his DJ sets. Drumcode Radio Live provides a continuing archive of that approach, with episodes and recorded performances collected alongside his tracks on SoundCloud. His recorded-mix history also includes BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixes and a contribution to the fabric mix series. Collaboration is a recurring part of his catalogue: Let Loose pairs him with DJ Jock, Love Within with Mark Reeve and No Mercy with Armin van Buuren. His work also includes a reworking of Faithless’s We Come 1. Across these recordings, radio episodes and collaborations, Beyer’s activity connects the role of producer with that of a label founder and selector, offering several ways into his techno catalogue.
