About
The sound
Alan Dixon is a DJ and producer whose music connects disco and gospel-influenced house with Italo-inspired synthesizers and larger club arrangements. Early edits and vocal-led tracks developed into a production style that places melody and rhythm alongside the lift of a dancefloor breakdown. His releases span Running Back, Permanent Vacation and Correspondant, with further records appearing through Defected and Glitterbox. His catalogue includes Forms of Love, Thandaza with Arabic Piano, The Underground and Infinity, showing the range between melodic collaborations and his own club records. Recorded DJ mixes provide another side of that work, while releases such as Gravity and Work For It continued the catalogue in 2026. Dixon's musical identity joins disco's rhythmic character to contemporary house production, with synthesizer-led records forming an important part of that development.
