About

The sound

Alan Fitzpatrick is a British DJ and producer from Southampton whose work moves between forceful techno, disco-inflected house and experimental electronic music. He began making hard house and acid techno around 2002, when his first record, Feel the Friction, was signed to Toolbox. His early DJ work included Southampton’s Rhino, while later releases appeared on Drumcode, Bedrock, Cocoon and Toolroom Trax. He launched We Are The Brave in 2016, with We Do What We Want becoming a defining release for the label. Its sister imprint Apex Faction takes a housier direction. Fitzpatrick has also explored electronica as 3STRANGE and developed HYBRD, a performance project that combines DJing with live creation. His catalogue includes the 2021 album Machine Therapy and collaborations with producers including Reset Robot, Sasha and Jamie Jones.
