Alarico

About

The sound

Alarico is the Italian techno project of Alarico Zucchi, who began DJing and learning production in Milan in 2015. He established the alias in 2019 after exploring several forms of techno, drawing on the raw sound of the 1990s and a personal interest in hip-hop and Japanese culture. Fast rhythms and tightly structured grooves are central to his approach. His recording debut followed on Joton’s Newrhytmic Records in 2020, and he launched Katana Records as a vinyl outlet for a darker, more mental strand of his music. Neo Tokyo credits Zucchi as its writer and producer, with remixes by Matrixxman, Takaaki Itoh and Toru Katsuta. Later releases include Klockworks 38, Drops of You, Carnal Fever and Sonora. He also presents music under the Kenji Hina name.
