About
The sound
Alexandria is a Birmingham DJ and producer whose selections explore minimal and deeper house. Her older brother introduced her to drum and bass through records by artists including DJ Hazard; discovering Sunwaves later drew her towards minimal music. Birmingham’s TRMNL parties at Lab11 became an important part of her development, taking her from regular clubgoer to performing DJ. An invitation from You&Me brought her to London’s 93 Feet East, a set she recalls as a turning point. She describes a darker, stripped-back side to her selections while adapting to each audience. Her Take You Higher EP on Mella Dee’s Nothing Stays The Same pairs the title track with Soul, Salvation and Freak of Nature, featuring Darnell. Her own SoundCloud archive includes the Wildfire edit and a two-hour TRMNL warm-up recording.
