Aline Umber

About

The sound

Aline Umber is the French electronic live duo of Aline Brooklyn and Aman Umber, formed in 2022. Their performances bring house, funk and electronic production into dialogue with live musicians, inviting guests from the cities where they play to create a different version of the set each time. A full-band performance at Paris’s Cabaret Sauvage became an important reference for their recorded work, contributing to a two-part album on A.B. Records. Their catalogue includes Bazen, featuring Songül, and Down to Earth, which draws on Chicago house and soulful vocals. Further recordings include Short Message Service, Disco Sex Machine with Maxime dB and Machine Woman, and their rework of Paul Cut’s Memorize Your Face. The project connects studio releases with a flexible performance format shaped around the participating musicians.
