Andre Butano

About

The sound

André Butano is a DJ and producer from Santiago, Chile, whose route into music began in restaurant kitchens. After studying international cuisine, he started selecting records when DJs were absent from the restaurant where he worked, gradually moving into the city’s underground house scene. His connection with Club La Feria became a central part of that development. Butano’s influences range from Depeche Mode, New Order and Kraftwerk to Chilean producers Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos and Dandy Jack. His productions combine house and tech-house grooves with prominent bass, percussion and organic melodies, often incorporating his own vocals. His discography includes work for Cadenza, 8bit, Circus, Robsoul, Mindshake and Desolat. Earlier career material documents Cachai Music, while his current official profiles identify him as the owner of Posay Music. Recent catalogue entries include Addictive and Groove Theory, alongside collaborations with Chinonegro.
