ANIL ARAS

About

The sound

Anil Aras is a Dutch DJ and producer whose musical background began with violin lessons at four, followed by piano and an introduction to drums. Early listening to hardcore developed into an interest in the techno emerging around 2000 and a growing collection of records. Older house music became another part of that collection, informing the raw, rhythm-led approach heard in his productions. Set The Record Straight appeared on OFF Recordings, while Don’t Give Up formed part of SlapFunk’s early catalogue. His Slap City EP later included a remix by Malin Genie. More recent work includes Through the Night on Up The Stuss, When Souls Collide on PIV and Be Yourself on Haven Trax. Recorded selections for Feel My Bicep, The Boom Room and No Art Radio offer another route into his musical interests beyond the studio.
