About
The sound
Ankhoï is a Moroccan-born DJ and producer whose musical background began with guitar, djembe and playing in local folk groups. Discovering synthesizers and DJ equipment led him towards electronic music, and he later developed his production work in Paris. His approach connects Afro and progressive house with melodic elements, drawing on the percussion and shared singing traditions he grew up around. A remix of Mayra Andrade’s Afeto followed his discovery of her music while spending time in Brazil. His interpretation of Keinemusik’s Before The Flood is another example of adapting an existing song for a different listening and club context. His catalogue includes After All, Hidden Place with Coulson, Closer To The Floor with Jazzy and THE FUTURE with Luch. Do You Think Of Me? appeared on Ninja Tune, extending that body of work into 2026.
