Anna Vs June is the solo project of Athens musician Anna Papaioannou, whose work brings electronic production together with singing, traditional music and field recordings. Her research includes visits to rural communities to record songs and explore vocal practices, including microtonal singing. Those encounters feed a musical language that moves between electronic experimentation and the traditions carried by the human voice. Her release history includes When You Can't Dance in 2018, Prosper Easter in 2020 and Music for Cats with Saber Rider in 2022. Terpsichore Dance, Ersi and Mondo Organico followed in 2023, connecting her work to Sounds of Ogigia and Invisible Inc as well as her own releases. In 2025 she released 5 Balkan Lullabies and collaborated with Jan Van Angelopoulos on Mutable Ground, an album issued through Sounds of Ogigia. Across these records, song, recorded environments and electronic sound provide different ways to explore the relationship between place and musical memory.
