About

The sound

Anthony James is an East London DJ, producer and radio presenter whose sound draws on Afro house and Afro tech, with deep, soulful, Latin and tech-house elements. He began learning music as a child, later developing production and DJ skills alongside his classical piano training. Piano chords, arpeggiated synthesizers, atmospheric textures and percussion form recurring ingredients in his studio approach. His early DJ work took him from Shoreditch to Brixton, followed by appearances across London's club circuit, including Ministry of Sound, Egg and The Steelyard. In 2020 he joined Select Radio and developed Audiotherapy, a programme centred on electronic music and guest mixes. Its SoundCloud archive includes contributions from artists such as Atmos Blaq, Karyendasoul, Drega and Lemon & Herb. The series connects his own musical selection with other producers' perspectives, providing a documented listening route beyond his live DJ sets.
