About
The sound
Axel Boman is a Stockholm-born DJ and producer whose house music combines dance-floor rhythm with an interest in texture, mood and playful detail. He began producing while studying art in Gothenburg, building on his earlier work as a DJ. His Holy Love EP appeared on Pampa Records, followed by Europa on Studio Barnhus. Boman founded Studio Barnhus with Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordkvist. Since 2010, the name has connected their record label, Stockholm studio and work together as a DJ trio. His solo album Family Vacation grew from ideas developed over several years: he revisited older sketches, added new material and worked with his label partners to select the tracks. That relationship between individual production and collective listening remains a defining part of his musical background. He also records with John Talabot as Talaboman, whose debut album The Night Land arrived in 2017. In 2022, he released LUZ and Quest for fire together, each containing nine tracks. The project brought guests including Kamohelo, Bella Boo and saxophonist Kristian Harborg into a pair of records connected through their music, artwork and accompanying text.
