Bachir Salloum

About

The sound

Bachir Salloum is a Lebanese DJ and producer shaped by Beirut’s club scene. His interest in electronic music developed at sixteen, following an early introduction to music through his older brother’s hip-hop and R&B selections. After moving to Dubai in 2014, he developed a sound connecting progressive house, deep house and melodic club music. Hernán Cattaneo encouraged him to begin producing and became an early supporter of his tracks, while Kevin Di Serna helped him learn Ableton. Salloum describes his own music in terms of groove, depth and melody; those elements also underpin the balance between darker and lighter passages in his DJ sets. His release history includes Sudbeat, Balance, Mango Alley and Sound Avenue. Alongside those studio releases, he shares extended DJ recordings through his artist channels, including his BS&F mix series. His studio work was also the subject of a When We Dip session focused on the track Illusions.
