BAKA G

About

The sound

Baka G is a French-Swiss DJ and producer based in Brussels. Her musical background began with classical study and violin at Lausanne’s Conservatory, before the house scenes of Paris and Brussels drew her towards club music. Disco, soulful house, Latin rhythms and old-school garage all feed into her DJ sets and productions. Her releases include Weekend and In Circles on Happiness Therapy, G Stands For Groove on Plastik People Recordings, and No Breaks All Fun through SEVEN. Alongside those EPs, she has made edits of tracks by artists including Empire of the Sun and the Black Eyed Peas. That combination of original recordings and reworked songs reflects a house sound built around funk, rhythmic movement and an open approach to musical influences.
