BAKEAN

About

The sound

BAKEAN is the electronic-music project of Maxime Lenik, a French DJ and producer whose work ranges from organic and deep house to more club-focused tech house. His performances extend beyond DJing: his live setup has included percussion, keyboards, flute and clarinet, bringing instrumental parts into his own electronic tracks. His collaborative release This Dance brought him together with WALTHER and Musumeci. The track began with sessions in Copenhagen after WALTHER invited Bakean from Paris, then developed further with Musumeci’s production work in Sicily. Music For Dreams released it in May 2025. The recording sits alongside a catalogue associated with labels including Lump Records, Sol Selectas, Sudam and Kamai Music.
