About
The sound
BEC is a Berlin-based techno DJ and producer whose sets combine dark, hypnotic selections with an improvisational approach. Working across three decks, she uses loops and on-the-fly rearrangement to shape the music as it plays. Her releases span labels including ARTCORE, Trip, Intrepid Skin and BPitch. Tracks such as Cherry Dagger and Tibetan Monks sit alongside her work for EMBARGO, the label she founded. Artificial Malfunction brought her together with KiNK, connecting her production with the Bulgarian artist’s approach to electronic performance. Further releases including Laws of Attunement, Resonance and Attuned document the continuing development of that catalogue. Beyond releases and DJ sets, BEC has demonstrated equipment for Roland and Novation, bringing her practical studio and performance interests into music-technology work.
