Bedouin

About

The sound

Bedouin is the electronic duo of Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe. The pair began working together in New York, bringing their Middle Eastern heritage into a shared approach to house music. Malki grew up in Jordan, while Abousabe was born in New Jersey to Egyptian parents. Their music combines electronic production with percussion, string instruments and vocal ideas shaped by those backgrounds. They founded Human By Default in 2020 and developed their debut album, Temple of Dreams, from material written across several years. Released in 2023, the album includes collaborators such as Chico Castillo, Delaram Kamareh, Iveta Mukuchyan and Nathan Daisy. Both members also sing, alongside their work with synthesisers and instruments collected during their travels. Their recorded catalogue includes Petra, created before the duo performed a hybrid live set at the Jordanian site for Cercle.
