About

The sound

Bellaire is the French producer and DJ Jean Krameyer, whose music connects house with the records he discovered through hip-hop production. Growing up in northern France, he began making beats as a teenager and developed an interest in sampling jazz and 1970s disco. Those influences remain audible in his use of rhythm, melody and instrumental fragments. Early releases including Saint Amour and Paris City Jazz established that approach, combining dancefloor structures with the warmth of funk and soul. His catalogue is connected with AOC Records and includes tracks such as Date at the Disco and Trumpet Call. Alongside original material, his Secret Grooves series revisits recordings by artists including Atlantic Starr and Don Laka as clearly identified edits. Born Funky extends the catalogue into an album format.
