About

The sound

Ben Hemsley is a Newcastle-based DJ and producer whose music draws on the dance records he heard growing up. Trance and house are important parts of that background, with the atmosphere of 1990s rave music informing his own productions. Tracks including Through 2 You, Bebe Musica and Love Peace & Harmony helped establish his recorded identity, while Erase Me developed the trance side of his work. His releases have appeared through imprints including Trick, Arcane, Repopulate Mars, Stress and Sola, covering different aspects of his dancefloor-focused production. Hemsley also founded Bebé as a label for his music and emerging producers. It gives him room to explore a wider range of sounds alongside releases for other labels.
