About
The sound
Boston 168 is the Turin duo of Sergio Pace and Vincenzo Ferramosca. Their music centres on acid techno, with analogue machines and live performance at the heart of the project. Their setup brings together instruments such as the Roland TR-909, TR-707 and TB-303, using the relationship between drum patterns and synthesizer lines to build a set in real time. The pair’s work grew from the Old and Young label, which they founded with Gambo in 2010. Releases followed through imprints including Enemy, Involve, Attic Music and BPitch. Tracks and records such as Oblivion, Black Hole and Gigantia document different points in that catalogue, while releases including Vax of Love and 909 Therapy continue its focus on acid-driven club music.
