About
The sound
Brunello builds his house music around rhythm, unusual textures and the visual world of Mellow Circus. Growing up around Washington, DC, he played in a high-school drum line, an experience that still shapes his approach to percussion. He began working with Ableton while studying at Miami University in Ohio and developed the Brunello project in San Diego during the pandemic. In 2023 he founded Mellow Circus Records, connecting his productions with a distinctive circus-inspired identity. Hand-painted artwork by Volk extends that idea beyond the records, while releases including The Clown’s Corridor, Illusions and Lost In The Mellow Circus give listeners an entry into the catalogue. His musical outlook draws from both house and American bass culture, and his DJ sets favour gradual development and changes in intensity.
