About
The sound
Camila Isasi is a DJ and producer raised in Ibiza. She began studying cello, music theory and choir at a conservatory at nine, before later taking DJ courses and studying electronic production. That musical background feeds an interest in melody as well as rhythm. Her early selections moved through house and tech house with touches of jazz; she subsequently developed a stronger focus on Afro house. In discussing her work, Isasi describes combining melancholy melodies with African rhythmic influences. Hanami, released through Fiona Kraft's Non Merci Music, documents that direction in her own production.
