About
The sound
Charlotte de Witte is a Belgian DJ and producer whose career began in Ghent's local club scene. Techno forms the centre of her work, with ambient passages, psychedelic textures and elements drawn from Belgium's rave history extending the range of her selection. Her studio recordings develop that interest in forceful rhythm and atmosphere, while her DJ sets bring different strands of electronic music into a longer musical arc. In 2015 she established KNTXT as a club night at Fuse in Brussels. The project later expanded into a record label, providing an outlet for her own productions and releases by other artists. Her catalogue includes Weltschmerz in 2015, Return to Nowhere in 2020 and High Street in 2023, alongside the self-titled album Charlotte de Witte in 2025. Later recordings include The Resistance and Amor with CERES. Production, performance and KNTXT's curatorial activity give different forms to a musical practice rooted in techno and open to its surrounding sounds.
