The sound

Claptone is a DJ and producer recognised by a gold mask and a sound that brings house, deep house and tech house together. The project emerged around 2012, with records including “No Eyes,” “Cream” and “Heartbeat” establishing its combination of vocal melody and dance-floor groove. Albums such as Charmer, Fantast and Closer developed that approach through collaborations with singers including Nathan Nicholson, James Vincent McMorrow and Seal. Claptone’s remix catalogue includes Gregory Porter’s “Liquid Spirit,” Mylo’s “Drop the Pressure,” and Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart.” The Masquerade extends the project’s masked identity into a theatrical party concept, combining house music with elaborate visual presentation. Alongside those events, the Clapcast series offers a regular recorded expression of Claptone’s selections.
