About

The sound

Damian Lazarus is a DJ, producer and the founder of Crosstown Rebels. The label and its Rebellion offshoot have provided platforms for artists including Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex and Art Department. His own work moves between house, techno and a wider listening palette, explored further through the eclectic Lazpod series. His recording career includes Smoke the Monster Out and the Ancient Moons project, which brings collaborators into a band-like setting around his electronic production. The 2020 album Flourish forms another chapter in that catalogue. Collaborations have also linked him with Diplo and Jungle on Don’t Be Afraid and with Gorgon City and Leia Contois on Start Over. In 2025 he released Magickal, an album featuring contributors including Fink, Jem Cooke, Jojo Abot and TEED.
