About
The sound
Darque is a South African DJ and producer working in Afro house. His early catalogue includes production on Garth and G-Rel's “Inhliziyo Yami” in 2012, followed by “Ready for the World” with Black Coffee and vocalist Kaylow in 2013. Those records place his own music alongside the vocal and collaborative traditions of South African house. His album catalogue includes This Is Africa, Must Be Africa and More Life, released in 2016, 2020 and 2023 respectively. Collaborations such as “Uthando” with Zakes Bantwini continue that connection between electronic production and song. His music spans singles and longer album projects, bringing different vocalists into his Afro-house sound.
