About

The sound

DART is Dublin DJ and producer Jordan Rafferty. His mother's record collection introduced him to the house and trance associated with Ireland's 1990s rave scene, and he began experimenting with DJing as a teenager. His sound brings that melodic inheritance together with progressive house and techno. He developed his craft at Dublin's Hangar and won AVA's emerging-producer competition in 2018. His releases include the six-track Dawn EP on Remmah and Tonic Ice on Rhythm Nation, alongside records for HOMAGE, Shall Not Fade and Hot Haus. The music connects the sounds he discovered at home with the club community in which he learned to DJ. Digging for progressive house and trance at Dublin’s Abbey Disc helped develop his taste for emotional pads and breakdowns. Away from electronic music, his listening also includes hip-hop and punk rock. His own catalogue also features an edit of NJoi’s Anthem.
