David Tort is a Spanish DJ, producer and label owner whose career spans more than three decades in electronic music. He began DJing in 1988, moving from acid house, new beat, EBM and techno toward house, and later developed a studio practice that combines driving bass, melodic hooks and club-focused arrangement. His catalogue includes original productions such as Strangers, Lost In Acid, Jack It Up, One Look and Chase The Sun, together with remixes for Carl Cox, Tiësto, Nelly Furtado, David Guetta, Bob Sinclar and Gui Boratto. Releases have appeared through Toolroom, Spinnin’ Deep, Doorn Records, Stereo Productions, Musical Freedom, Size and Zerothree. Tort also founded HoTL Records, a label built around extended DJ-playable music across house and techno, and developed HoTL parties and radio programming. The project’s sound is known for driving rhythms, powerful low end and energetic drops, while the DJ side has taken him to clubs and festivals around the world. His long connection to Space Miami and Miami’s Winter Music Conference sits alongside work from Barcelona and international touring, giving the David Tort name a clear link to both studio craft and marathon club performance.
