DJ Kent is the stage name of Khensani Mabaso, a South African DJ, producer, composer and songwriter based in Johannesburg. He built his name through a technically precise house sound that combines rhythmic drive, melodic vocals and smooth multi-deck mixing. His early career included the Kentphonik partnership with Euphonik and Tumi Mokitlane; the group's 88 Productions releases Uwrongo and Masingita helped carry South African house into wider listening circles. Kent's solo catalogue began with Mixing Business with Pleasure Reloaded and later expanded through The Weekent, Evolution X and the Weekent Sun Sets series. Apple Music lists songs including Spin My World, Top of the World, Love You Still, Don't Let Go, Sunrise and Horns in the Sun, showing a long-running focus on vocal and rhythmic house rather than a single fixed subgenre. The Evolution X project also introduced more of Kent's own singing and songwriting alongside production.
