About
The sound
DJ Nobu is a Japanese DJ and producer based in Tokyo and the founder of Future Terror and Bitta. His selections range across different forms of electronic music, with a flexible approach to building a set rather than a fixed stylistic formula.
His recorded work includes the 2006 mix No Way Back, the 2008 Creep Into Shadows: The Midnight D Edits and Diary under the Dazz Y DJ Nobu name. The ON mix followed in 2010. These projects place his work as a selector alongside his production catalogue.
Bitta began its release catalogue with a 2012 record by DJ Nobu and IORI, followed by a record with Steven Porter in 2013. The label remains part of his activity as a curator: his SoundCloud page also presents DOLTZ.’s 2026 album Final Trace, released as Bitta016.
His own productions include Sway on Semantica and the four-track Nepia EP on Non Series, released in June 2021 with Blue Zone, Nepia, Bones and Comet. Recordings from Boiler Room sets at Dekmantel and in Seoul sit alongside his releases, offering another route into his work behind the decks.
