About
The sound
DJ Paulette is a Manchester-born DJ, broadcaster, author and curator whose sets draw on disco, house and techno. Her early career included a monthly residency at the Hacienda, followed by residencies at London's Heaven and Ministry of Sound. Work in Paris and an international club career widened that experience while Manchester remained central to her story. Her broadcasting has included programmes for Reform Radio and Worldwide FM, alongside appearances on BBC Radio 6 Music. She has also worked beyond the DJ booth as an exhibition curator and mentor. In 2018 she presented HOMEBIRD at The Lowry and released the Sheroes EP with producer Chris Massey. Paulette is the author of Welcome to the Club: The Life and Lessons of a Black Woman DJ.
