DJ Pied Piper

About

The sound

DJ Pied Piper is a London DJ whose career connects British hip-hop with UK garage. He worked with Hijack and Unknown MC during the early 1990s, touring within the hip-hop scene before moving into garage. With Unknown MC he co-founded Soulfood Recordings, and Da Click's Good Rhymes brought their mixture of rap, R&B and garage to a wider audience in 1998. He later joined the Masters of Ceremonies for Do You Really Like It?, which reached number one in the UK in 2001. That collaborative record sits alongside his individual work as a DJ: his roots include broadcasts on pirate station Deja Vu, followed by club, festival and radio appearances.
