Ella Knight

About

The sound

Ella Knight is a DJ, singer and promoter whose selections bring together soulful disco, house and garage with African percussion. A graduate of Gilles Peterson’s Future Bubblers programme, she developed her voice as a singer before broadening her work behind the decks. Her Rinse FM shows give that musical range a regular radio setting, with guest appearances and recorded sets connecting the programme to her wider club work. Ella Knight’s House Party has brought together artists including Todd Edwards, Wookie and Jeremy Sylvester. Her collaboration with Sylvester developed into the duo Ellvester, first taking shape at The Cause before appearances at Glastonbury and Boomtown. Through Madame Jazz, she also presents women working in jazz and soul.
