Franco Cinelli is an Argentine DJ and producer from Rosario whose career links Detroit-informed techno with the deep, minimal and dubby edges of house. He began DJing at fourteen and started experimenting with drums, computers and samplers before making his first tracks in 1995. That early interest in rhythm and machines became a long-running practice of extended, carefully blended sets: his selections move between styles while preserving a strong sense of groove and narrative. Cinelli became a key figure in Argentina’s electronic scene, playing across the country and holding a residency at El Sótano, and later developed an international circuit through European tours and appearances in clubs and festivals from Berlin, London and Paris to Mexico City, Ibiza and beyond. His discography includes the early albums Play, Deeper and Memorama, the Profundo Amor album, the Picaro EP with Bruno Pronsato, and releases or remixes for labels including Esperanza, Ilian Tape, Bass Culture, Alphahouse, Adjunct, Claque Musique, Hello? Repeat and Airdrop. Collaborative projects such as FranMatJor with Jorge Savoretti and Matias Oviedo, Maria Fresca with Dario Zenker, and Flavio Etcheto’s live and electro-pop work show how he extends the same curiosity beyond a solo name. His sound is not tied to one tempo or strict genre label; it is shaped by patient layering, precise mixing and an ear for texture, with dub, ambient, techno, house and experimental electronic ideas folded into a coherent dance-floor language. Cinelli’s work has earned support from artists and selectors across the international underground, while his Rosario roots remain visible in his long-term collaborations and imprint culture. He continues to approach the booth and studio as complementary spaces, using each to test how rhythm, space and melody can produce a shared physical response.
