Gabbs

About

The sound

Gabbs is an Italian DJ and co-founder of Jooice, the collective, record label and party series he helped establish after moving to Rome in 2015. His interest in DJing began with his father's equipment and Italo-disco records. That early exposure developed into an approach shaped by record digging and a willingness to select across genres, rather than staying within one narrow style. Preparing a set involves patient listening and an awareness of the role a DJ plays at different points in a night. In his 2024 Mixmag interview, Gabbs described a four-hour solo appearance at Berlin's Club der Visionaere as an important step in his decision to pursue music full-time. Recorded selections for Dimensions Festival and The Lot Radio offer further examples of his DJ work outside the club itself.
