About

The sound

GIDEÖN is a London DJ, producer and vinyl collector whose selections connect house with soul, reggae, gospel, disco and Latin music. He began working with turntables in 1990 and built a collection reaching across records from the UK, the United States, Jamaica, Latin America and Africa. His work also extends into stage design and musical curation. As a co-founder of Block9, he helped create and curate spaces including NYC Downlow, Genosys, Maceo’s and IICON. Radio has been another part of his career, beginning with London pirate stations in the late 1990s and continuing through shows and appearances on Soho Radio, Rinse FM, NTS and the BBC.
