HalfPint

About

The sound

HalfPint is Freddie, a London-based house DJ and producer who helped establish the Roundabout collective in Brighton. His musical interests developed through classical piano, jazz and hip-hop before moving into electronic music. Early listening to Hot Chip, The Prodigy and Underworld was followed by the more experimental club sounds of Boddika, Skream, Objekt and Blawan. His productions place bass and rhythmic energy at the centre, with a sense of euphoria carried into his DJ sets. Roundabout provided a setting for that approach through its parties and collective activity. His recorded work includes a remix of Lady Jane's Binman for Slacker85, linking the studio side of his career with the house and bass influences heard in his selections.
