About
The sound
Héctor Oaks is a DJ, producer and label founder whose vinyl sets connect techno with wave, body music, acid and the history of Spanish rave culture. He began in Spain and gained wider recognition after moving to Berlin, building a style that brings contemporary productions together with records found through years of digging. He founded OAKS in 2016 as an outlet for music spanning fast techno, acid, EBM and more varied house and tribal rhythms. His debut album, As We Were Saying, followed in 2018. In 2019 he established KAOS, extending his label work alongside his own recordings and collaborations. His 2023 album Fuego Universal brought rap vocals into his techno productions, with contributions from Patrick Mason and Madrid rappers Ill Pekeño and Ergo Pro. Other collaborations include “No Hay Mañana” with Coco Paloma. His records and DJ sets share an interest in the tension between older rave sounds and contemporary club music, with vinyl remaining central to his approach behind the decks.
