About

The sound

Heidi is a Canadian-born DJ whose house and techno selections developed from an early connection with the music of nearby Detroit. She grew up in Windsor, Ontario, and moved to London in 2000, working in record shops including Koobla and joining Phonica's opening team in 2003. That record-store background helped shape the musical range she brought to DJing from 2004. Her recording work reached Get Physical in 2006, and she joined BBC Radio 1's In New DJs We Trust programme in 2008. In 2009 she began Jackathon, later compiling Heidi Presents The Jackathon for Get Physical in 2011. She extended the project with the Jackathon Jams label, whose early releases involved Maya Jane Coles, Miss Kittin and tINI. In 2023 she launched Heidi presents Hi-Jacked, a party series drawing on the dancefloor energy and community of Jackathon.
