About
The sound
Henrik Schwarz is a German producer, composer and live electronic performer whose work connects dance music with jazz and classical composition. Releasing music since 2002, he developed a performance approach built around computers and real-time musical decisions. His DJ-Kicks mix appeared in 2006, and his recording work has reached labels including Innervisions, !K7 and his own Sunday Music label. Collaboration has opened several directions in his catalogue. Duo paired him with Norwegian pianist Bugge Wesseltoft; with bassist Dan Berglund they made Trialogue in 2014. Instruments followed in 2015, while Skripted Orkestra with Metropole Orkest appeared in 2018 and CCMYK with the Alma Quartet in 2019. In Schwarzmann, he works with Frank Wiedemann to reinterpret their music live. His interest in the tools behind performance also led to Schwarzonator, a software project for composition and musical experimentation.
