HUGEL

About

The sound

HUGEL is the DJ and producer Florent Hugel, whose house records bring together Latin rhythms, prominent vocals and the funk, disco and soul he heard growing up in Marseille. He began mixing vinyl at sixteen, drawing inspiration from Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Daft Punk and David Guetta before developing his own production work. A remix of “Bella Ciao” helped bring his music to a wider audience. “Morenita,” featuring Cumbiafrica, became an important record in his Latin house catalogue in 2021, and the pair followed it with “El Sueno” on Cr2 in February 2022. His later releases include “I Adore You,” featuring Daecolm, and “It Feels So Good,” featuring Sonique, both from 2024. The 2026 album Twenty One includes “Shine” and “Stay Sexy,” extending a catalogue that also spans remixes and collaborations with artists including David Guetta, J Balvin and Robin Schulz.
