Hypaton is the stage name of Italian DJ and producer Giorgio Ortenzi, an artist from Capodimonte near Rome whose work joins the emotional pull of classic dance records with the punch of contemporary future-rave production. Music was part of his family life from childhood: his father and uncle played in a band called Hypaton, the name Ortenzi later adopted, and he learned guitar before turning his attention to electronic production. He began making EDM and trance around 2014 while also studying dentistry in Madrid, developing a studio practice that treated familiar melodies as raw material for new club energy. In 2022 he started sharing reworks through Instagram, and a fast, high-impact reinterpretation of La Bouche’s Be My Lover spread widely online. The track brought him to the attention of David Guetta, leading to an official collaboration and a much larger international audience. The resulting 2023 release passed hundreds of millions of streams and established Hypaton’s signature: recognizable vocal hooks, bright synth tension, and a dramatic drop shaped for both social discovery and a large sound system. His catalogue has since expanded through originals, collaborations and official remixes with artists such as Robin Schulz, Sigala, A7S, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Bl3ss and Casso. Releases including Feeling Good with Guetta, Outta My Head with Norma Jean Martine and Henri PFR, Lungs with Agatino Romero, and later singles such as Together and Walked Away show an artist moving between nostalgic pop references, trance detail and streamlined house momentum. Hypaton’s production is built around contrast: a vocal line or familiar refrain provides instant recognition, while heavier drums, sharpened bass and modern sound design push the material toward the peak-time floor. His DJ identity follows the same logic, combining melodic uplift with the force and pacing of an EDM set. The artist has become known for an open, personable online presence as well as technically polished records, and his fast-growing audience reflects the clarity of that connection. With major-label releases, a developing live profile and an expanding list of collaborators, Hypaton is building a distinct lane in current dance music: joyful, high-energy and rooted in the meeting point between remembered songs and forward-looking club production.
