About

The sound

Ilario Alicante is an Italian DJ and producer born in Livorno in 1988. He began experimenting with music at home before developing his work around the dancefloor. His 2008 breakthrough Vacaciones en Chile was followed by Living Near Africa on Cecille. He joined the Cocoon circle and founded Deep Moves, a label whose releases included remixes by Nina Kraviz, Matthew Herbert and Ryan Elliott. In 2016 he established Virgo as a further outlet for production and collaboration. His catalogue includes The Eye of Virgo, Figures & Echoes and Utopia, alongside Awakened and the Rave Soul release on Drumcode. In 2025 he released Patched Up with La La. His recorded DJ output includes a Drumcode Radio studio mix from Milan, a Boiler Room recording from Frankfurt and a Time Warp US back-to-back mix with Sam Paganini. Those recordings sit alongside his original music and the catalogues he develops through his labels.
