Jan Blomqvist is a Berlin-based singer, songwriter, producer and live electronic artist whose music joins melodic songwriting with club-oriented techno and tech-house. He began with singing and guitar, discovered techno in his early twenties and developed his own tracks while working in a club environment. Early Dantze releases such as “Big Jet Plane” led to festival performances, and his vocal appearance on Oliver Koletzki’s “The Devil in Me” preceded the Ink EP on Stil vor Talent. His live format grew through a long sequence of performances with Felix Lehmann and Christian Dammann, while writing partnerships including Ryan Mathiesen expanded the collaborative side of the project. Armada Music released the debut album Remote Control in 2016, followed by Winter Roads on Days Like Nights in 2017. Blomqvist’s songs use a clear vocal presence and melancholic melodic writing inside a club framework, and the live project has developed into a recognisable format with musicians rather than a conventional solo-DJ set. His recorded catalogue, long-running performance practice and Berlin base place the work between songwriter intimacy and dance-floor scale, with the electronic production carrying equal weight to the voice and lyrics.
