Jax Jones is the stage name of London-born Timucin Fabian Kwong Wah Aluo, a DJ, producer, songwriter and remixer whose house records connect club energy with pop, hip-hop, R&B and African musical influences. He grew up in a multi-ethnic family, learning from his Turkish father, Malaysian mother and Nigerian stepfather, and absorbed Fela Kuti, The Notorious B.I.G., gospel, jazz and the rhythmic precision of producers such as The Neptunes and Timbaland. Classically trained on guitar, he moved from open-mic performance and early rap production into house after meeting Duke Dumont. Their 2014 collaboration I Got U became a UK number-one record and established Jones as a producer with a distinct melodic, sample-aware approach. He developed that sound through You Don't Know Me with Raye, Instruction with Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don, Breathe with Ina Wroldsen, Ring Ring with Mabel and Rich the Kid, and the album Snacks (Supersize). His catalogue also includes remixes for Whitney Houston, Ed Sheeran, Diana Ross, Ellie Goulding, Charli XCX and Missy Elliott, showing how he carries dance-floor structure into mainstream songwriting. Jones remains an active international electronic artist, combining keyboard and studio musicianship with DJ sets and collaborations while keeping a bright, vocal-led house signature.
