About

The sound

Joëlla Jackson is a DJ and producer from Amsterdam whose house sound grew out of a childhood surrounded by soul and disco. Discovering house music as a teenager, she was drawn to the way its basslines carried those earlier influences. Her first practical experience came while organising Thursday nights at a club, selecting music before the booked DJs began. She developed her mixing at gatherings and house parties before moving into Amsterdam club bookings. By 2022, her performances included Shelter, De Marktkantine and Toffler. The same interest in rhythm and groove runs through her production catalogue, which includes the Joystick EP for Cécille, Super Model EP on Cocoa and Solo Contigo EP on Libero. Other recordings include Stay Logic EP on Deeperfect and Attention with Nick Curly.
