Joris Voorn is a Dutch DJ, producer and label founder whose work has carried the melodic and experimental possibilities of house and techno from Amsterdam's underground into a global setting. Born in Tilburg and based in Amsterdam, he developed as a musician before establishing his electronic catalogue with the Muted Trax and Lost Memories EPs in the early 2000s. His 2007 album From a Deep Place became a defining statement, combining precise club rhythm with deep-house harmony, spacious atmosphere and an emotional approach to techno. Later albums including Balance 014, Nobody Knows, Four, \u03a4\u03c9\u03c1\u03b1, Serotonin and Melatonin expanded that language through live instrumentation, vocal collaboration and detailed sound design. Voorn co-founded the Green and Rejected labels with Edwin Oosterwal and later developed Spectrum as a label, radio series and event platform. Those outlets give him a structure for original music as well as long-form DJ storytelling, while his remixes for artists including Underworld, Dua Lipa, Orbital, Eelke Kleijn and Vintage Culture show how he can retain a song's identity while rebuilding its rhythmic and melodic architecture. Records such as Ringo, Never, Antigone, You & I, Horizon and the 2026 singles Don't Be Afraid, Diabla and Machine chart a catalogue that moves between driving techno, luminous progressive forms and restrained house. His artist-controlled channels publish studio sessions, Spectrum broadcasts and recordings from clubs and festivals, documenting a performance practice built on careful layering and sustained progression. Five albums into his career, Voorn remains identifiable not by one tempo or subgenre but by clarity of production, melodic patience and a consistent effort to connect underground electronic music with a broad audience.
