About
The sound
Julya Karma is a DJ and producer whose musical background connects Brooklyn club culture with a broad range of listening. She began studying classical piano as a child, and her influences include indie and psychedelic rock, jazz and traditional Arabic music. Those interests inform sets that move between melodic passages and more percussive electronic rhythms. Her performance history includes Coachella, Cercle, Lost Village, DGTL and The Brooklyn Mirage. Recorded sets for Cercle and an Innervisions mix provide different perspectives on her selections, alongside studio work shared through her own music channels. In May 2025, she contributed to Innervisions Überall on NTS. The programme’s tracklist moves from Nightmares on Wax and Jesse Bru to Fred Everything and Drexciya, giving a recorded example of the range of music she brings together.
